Our History

After years of extensive research and releasing our Monash University FODMAP Diet App, we started receiving calls from the public for retail products to be clearly labelled as low in FODMAPs to make it easier to follow the low FODMAP diet.

We decided to start a low FODMAP certification program to translate science into practice and develop a pathway for the food industry to have their products tested and recipes checked by experts. Approved products and recipes gain the benefit of using the Monash certified logo and claim to show that they have earned their low FODMAP status from a trusted endorsing body.

Our program launched in 2014 and has gone on to test and assess hundreds of different food products, recipes and ready meals from around the globe.

Our Mission

We understand it can be difficult to follow a low FODMAP diet or help support someone who is following it.

Our goal is to help millions of people around the world take the stress and guesswork out of shopping for low FODMAP foods and cooking low FODMAP meals. We do this by working with the food industry to test their products or raw ingredients, and assess recipes for food service and meal delivery companies, to determine if they are low in FODMAPs. Products and recipes must meet our defined and widely recognised to join our program.

Certified products, recipes and ready meals are clearly identified by our distinctive Monash certified stamp of approval and by being listed in the world’s original FODMAP diet app. Learn more about the benefits of joining here.

Our Certification Programs

Our program consists of two major streams:
